Blizzard dropped a bombshell today by announcing that Diablo III, the highly-awaited sequel to the smash hit 2000 action role-playing game, Diablo II, has been split into five. The company said that Diablo III now consists of five different stand-alone titles--one for each character class.
Blizzard says it made the change to make each story that much more epic and to flesh out the Diablo universe. By splitting the game, the company says that players will access more story content, more characters, and more customization. Rob Pardo, executive vice president of game design, said that each game would be approximate in size to previous Diablo games. Each game will be a stand-alone installment – not an expansion.

ReplyDelete"and now we will sell five time as many copies, derp"
ReplyDeleteThis will be the half life syndrome. Great game followed up with great sequel but split into segments that get released every over 9000 years.
